I must tell you, after the ordeal I just went through with my Laptop, I need to share this info with my family here...
If you decide to play games, or download anything online, here a few things you should know:

1- Internet Explorer is VERY hackable. There are alternatives to this browser, a good one is .
Mozilla Firefox.
Firefox is also very customizable, and easier to control. (safety wise especially).

2- Toolbars - Your computer can only handle one toolbar per browser active at one time. If you notice your browsers lagging, taking too long to load, or freezing up, you might have other toolbars on your PC either without knowing it, or downloaded them and decided not to use them and left them on there.

3 - Keep your cookies and history clean. Don't allow any info to be saved to your browser. That includes form data. I know that it is convenient, but it is a MAJOR risk. My checking account almost got hacked because of it. It is not worth it. You can set your Firefox browser to "Private Browsing", it is a wonderful tool.

4 - Use Disk Cleanup and Defrag as often as possible. They come with windows, you don't have to BUY anything. You should always make sure you have an Anti-Virus though. Windows Defender is good, but you should buy one also. McAfee for an anti-virus is awesome. Another tool that is a MUST have and SAVED my computer is System Mechanic. This program is VERY valuable and saved my butt many times, I haven't had it in a while due to lack of funds and I have to buy a new one because my old one isn't compatible with Windows 7. The trial version was just enough to fix the problems, and I gotta keep on it til I can get the full version again.

I work on computers, and I was surprised that I let mine go as far as I did. Usually I do a disk clean up every other day, and do a defrag every other day, and I have been slacking. I gotta make time to do it no matter how busy I get.

I hope this has been helpful to you, and if you have any questions please ask. I don't want any of you to experience what I did last night. It was so bad, that when I logged onto my desktop, all I got was a black screen. Please be careful.
